Because of the variety and challenge in the industry, I wanted to follow a study in logistics. I started at Ritmeester in 2018 and I support the CSD block with order entry, processing and customer contact.
I like the best thing about Ritmeester is the variety, the challenge in work and that I learn something new every day. At Ritmeester it feels like a big family. Atmosphere and collegiality are of paramount importance and you can tell by everything.
If you want to work in logistics, I would definitely do it at Ritmeester. It is challenging, varied and incredibly fun. Just go for it!
'Just go for it'
My Ritmeester history goes back to 1990 when I met Robert-Jan at the Haven en Vervoerschool (nowadays STC). After completing that training, we both went our own way. For years, and at various points in our career, we met each other always and everywhere. When Ritmeester moved to Barendrecht, I immediately went to look at the new building. Robert-Jan’s enthusiasm was contagious and I wanted to become part of the company.
I have been a Ritmeester for three years now and as Planner I am responsible for the planning, maintenance of the fleet and I am closely involved in many, fun, side activities within and outside the organization including indoor football tournaments. What I like about my position is the variety, the improvisation, the challenge and the collaboration with a team of nice, good people, both outside and inside. Working at Ritmeester gives me satisfaction, I get a lot of freedom and variety in my work. Apart from the planning, I also sometimes take a ride and help in the shed when needed.
If you are not looking for a job from 9 to 5, like challenges and variety, then you are at the right place at Ritmeester! You will be well cared for outside of work and you will be involved in everything. There are plenty of opportunities within the company and outside of work many spontaneous and sporting things are organized.
"Togheter you can do a lot more than alone."
After my internship I stayed at Ritmeester. I am Freight Forwarder and I am responsible for the entire process from acceptance to invoicing per order.
At Ritmeester we want to offer the customer the best service. I think that is one of the nicest parts of working at Ritmeester. But also the responsibility, freedom and being able to organize the day. If you give the customer the best service, you will go home with a good feeling at the end of the day.
If you want to add quality to the team you are welcome at Ritmeester. I say: send your resume to as soon as possible to firstname.lastname@example.org
"At the end of the day, it will always be fine"
After deliberately staying at home with the children for a number of years, I felt like getting back to work. In 2015 I started working at Ritmeester as an interior caretaker. Because I had such a good click with the team, I had the opportunity to grow into an administrative position.
Thanks to the good guidance and confidence I have been able to develop and I am now all-round employable in administration. That means that in addition to administration and debt management, I also offer support in the field of human resources and I ensure that facility management is properly arranged.
What I like about my work is that it is very varied and that I am still learning so much. We all work towards one common goal and all colleagues are equally important in this. That creates a nice atmosphere.
My tip for people who want to work at Ritmeester is; show a healthy working attitude but especially enjoy your work.
"Be yourself, work hard and your qualities will be noticed!"
